Run for Elected Position

These positions are elected positions:

  • Regional Representative - A nominee for a Regional Representative position must be a full-time PreK-12 classroom teacher employed by a school, having students in their classroom all day and with a day-to-day interaction with students.
    • Eastern Regional Representative (IU’s 13, 14, 18, 19-26 & 29)
    • Central Regional Representative (IU’s 08-12, 15, 16 & 17)
    • Western Regional Representative (IU’s 01-07, 27 & 28)
  • Delegate at Large - A nominee for the Delegate at Large position must be a mathematics-based educator employed in the state of Pennsylvania, including the classroom at any level, Math Coaches/Supervisors, or Intermediate Unit. The Delegate-at-Large represents areas anywhere throughout the state.

Responsibilities of the Positions

  1. Attend the Board meetings
  2. Utilize your voice and vote on all Board decisions and motions.
  3. Provide input at the Board meetings concerning agenda items.
  4. Bring forth new ideas and suggestions that PCTM might be able to facilitate to benefit the teachers of Pennsylvania.

Serving on a PCTM Committee

  • Awards —The Awards Committee shall be responsible for identifying individuals who will receive the council’s awards. The Chair shall send timely and frequent requests for nominations to membership, collect the nominations, and distribute the nomination packet material to the Committee members for review and recommendations. The Committee shall also be responsible for administering the arrangements related to the presentations.
  • Conference Planning Committee
    • Registration
    • Program
    • Exhibits/Vendors
    • Photography (pictures of events)
    • Publicity
    • Just want to help in any way
  • History/Archive PCTM — The Historian shall collect, maintain, and archive materials and artifacts related to the PCTM. The Historian shall also be responsible for updating and maintaining the lists of PCTM awardees, PCTM officers, and conference program information every year.
  • Contests —The Contest Committee shall be responsible for facilitating the funding of statewide student mathematics contests.
  • Publications — The Publications Committee shall prepare publications, in print and electronic form, as directed by the Board of Directors.

PCTM Magazine Involvement

  • Co-Editor of the PCTM Magazine
  • Write an article for the PCTM Magazine
